Accreditation & Credit Designation

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Avera, Community Health Worker Collaborative of South Dakota, Sage Project Consultants, LLC. Avera is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Medicine CME
Avera designates this live activity for a maximum of 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits . Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification Program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.

Nurses
Avera designates this activity for a maximum of 2.0 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ACPE (Pharmacy CE)
Avera designates this activity for 2.0 ACPE contact hours. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Credit will be uploaded to the NABP CPE Monitor within 30 days after the activity completion. Per ACPE rules, Avera does not have access nor the ability to upload credits requested after the evaluation closes. It is the responsibility of the pharmacist or pharmacy technician to provide the correct information (NABP ID and DOB (MMDD)) to receive credit.

Social Workers
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Avera is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive for 2.0 clinical continuing education credits. *Types of credit include: ethics, clinical, cultural competence, or general.

EMS
Continuing Education Approved by the SD Dept. of Health, certificate number SD23CE0673.

Dentists, Dental Hygienists, and Dental Assistants
Application has been submitted and approved through the South Dakota Board of Dentistry. Completion of the entire educational activity is required to receive 2.0 CEUs.
