South Dakota QuitLine Services
The South Dakota QuitLine is a free service that helps tobacco users (including e-cigarettes) to quit. Those that are South Dakota residents and 13 years of age or older are eligible for services. Services provided include:
Phone Coaching Program Includes
- Up to 12 weeks of coaching calls
- Up to 12 weeks of cessation medication
- NRT options include the patch, lozenge, or gum OR
- Bupropion or Varenicline with a prescription
2QuitSD Program Includes
- Up to 8 weeks of coaching through texting and limited phone calls
- Up to 8 weeks of NRT (patch, lozenge, or gum)
Kickstart Kit Includes
- Up to 4 weeks of NRT medication (patch, lozenge, or gum)
Postpartum Program: for women who quit using tobacco products during pregnancy and includes
- 4 relapse prevention calls during the postpartum period
- Eligibility for two $25 gift cards throughout the program
Quit Guide
This interactive guide is packed full of information on preparing to quit potential medication options, coping mechanisms and strategies to handle triggers, dealing with a relapse, and celebrating life being tobacco free!
South Dakota Tobacco Control Materials
The South Dakota Tobacco Control Program offers free education materials on tobacco use, cessation, and the South Dakota QuitLine services. These can be utilized by CHWs or distributed to their patients.
